Over two years of anticipation was
worth the wait. This event was scheduled for the summer of 2003, but with
SARS being such a real threat, the organizers made the move to reschedule
the event for August 2004. For the first time ever, this event offered
leadership training for single adults. Working in partnership with the
Baptist World Alliance (BWA), Turning Point Communications. Inc. was able to
provide
Young Single Adult Leadership Training at the Baptist Youth World Conference
held in Hong Kong August 4 -8, 2004.
Even though this is called a "Youth
Conference", it is estimated that nearly 50% of the participants were
actually young single adults between ages 20 and 35.
This is because in African, Asia and Latin American cultures, unmarried
adults are still referred to as "youth". Our goal for teaching at this conference is
the desire to see new ministries to single adults emerge in many of the
countries represented.
