Thursday, May 9th, Live FacebookFollow Us On YouTube! Is It Possible to be a Great Father and a Single Dad by Matt HavilandThe short answer is, “Absolutely!” However, since being a single parent brings a variety of outside factors and dynamics, we may have to take a slightly different approach. It will surely look different for single fathers.
Whether you have full or partial custody of your children, single fatherhood brings some level of brokenness. Perhaps there was a divorce, a broken relationship, or the loss of your spouse. Either way, I get it. I was a single dad for over nine years; and even though I am now married, I still experience many of the same challenges I did beforehand. God can but will He?God can heal anyone, anytime, and any place, but does He? No one truly knows God's mind and his timing. Sometimes, when he heals, it is to bring Him glory. Sometimes, it's to help us with our faith and our personal growth. Sometimes, he says no, and we must trust him either way. Listen as Kris shares some of her journey this week while ministering in the UK and waiting on God to heal.
Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Do You L.E.A.D Well? by Kris SwiatochoL: LED
Are you being led by the Lord so that, in turn, you can lead others in the Lord? Are you spending enough time with God so that when you lead, it’s coming from him, his spirit, versus only your knowledge? You can easily get distracted with life, taking away that precious time with the Lord. How will you know what God wants you to do, who to lead or minister to, what ministries to start or end, and what direction for the ministry, etc., without time with him first? Take a few minutes and spend time with the Lord, asking for his direction for your next steps. Read More |

Singles Retreat, May 24-27th, Hungry Horse, MTFunny Christian Pick-Up LinesCan You Really Be Friends with the Opposite Sex by Pastor Dan Houk and Kris SwiatochoIs it possible to be friends with someone of the opposite sex? For some, they say “yes,” and for others, a resounding “no.” So why would you think that it’s not possible? Recently, I was a part of a chat discussion about this topic. I was amazed at the numerous comments made. Women, for the most part, had no issues with being friends with men. They could see the value of building a friendship that may or may not lead to romance. They saw the relationship as one in which they could learn about men and ask some of those awkward and challenging questions. They also valued friends with married men, especially when they were friends with the men before they got married. Read More

“Jesus was a single adult and so are over 50% of the adults in the U.S. today. This is a population segment that calls for special attention and ministry, but has often gone unnoticed by the church. Kris Swiatocho has dedicated her life to reaching single adults for Christ and building them into multiplying disciples of Christ. She is a great communicator and organizer of singles ministry. I commend her to any church or group who is seeking to reach the many singles in our culture today.”
